Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavir)
Hiranyavarna Mahavihar is an ancient Vihara located in Patan, Lalitpur District, Nepal. Commonly referred to as the Golden Temple, it is a Buddhist temple where rats are fed. This three-storey golden pagoda, dedicated to Lokeshwor (Lord Buddha), was constructed in the twelfth century by King Bhaskar Verma. The upper storey of the pagoda houses a magnificent golden image of Lord Buddha and a large prayer wheel.
